Chocolate Macadamia Cookies with White Chocolate Chunks

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces white chocolate bar cut in chunks or vanilla chips
3 1/2 ounces macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, sugar and butter; beat until
light and fluffy. Add almond extract and egg; blend well. Add flour,
cocoa, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in white chocolate and
nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2" apart onto ungreased cookie
sheets. Bake for 8-12 min. or until set. Cool 1 min.; remove from
cookie sheets.
