Meringue Puffs

4 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. anise extract

Beat egg whites until foamy and gradually add sugar and beat until
stiff. Add anise extract and beat until mixed. Drop by spoon onto
brown paper bag on a cookie sheet, you can also use a pastry bag
and make fancy star shapes. Bake at 400 for 5 min or until just
starting to brown. Let cool on the paper bag and then peel off.
Makes 3 - 4 dozen depending on size.
