Russian Teacakes

1 c. margarine
2/3 c. sugar
2 T. water
2 t. vanilla extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 1/3 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped walnus
powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 300F. Cream margarine and sugar. Add water and
vanille, then stir in flour and salt. Add nuts and dates. Roll
into 1 in. balls. Bake for 20 min. Roll in powdered sugar, once
while warm, and once after cooling.
