Sun Crunchies

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup roasted, salted sunflower kernels (seeds)

Preheat oven to 375.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar and soda. In
another medium bowl, beat together margarine, granulated sugar,
brown sugar, egg and oil until well blended. Stir in flour mixture
and sunflower seeds. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches
apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until
cookies are light golden brown. Transfer cookies to wire racks to
cool. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
