Wine Drop Cookies
1/2 c molasses 1/2 c shortening (scant) 2 tsp soda i egg i c currants 1 tsp salt 1/2 c sugar 1/2 c sour milk 1 heaping tsp. baking powder 2 c flour 1 tsp cloves
Cream the shortening and sugar, beat in the egg, beat in the molasses, beat in the sour milk, stir together all the dry ingredients and the currants, and mix the dry into the wet.
Drop by teaspoons on ungreased sheets and bake at 350 F. No time was given in the recipe I clipped, and I usually don't time things anyway but just go "by looks". They're fairly small cookies, so I start checking at probably 8 minutes. They're done when set and with a little bit of slightly darker color around the edges.
