Currant Zaletti

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1 cup currants
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
zest of 1 lemon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt,
currants and baking powder in large bowl. Add butter at room temp
and mix together with hands until dough forms. Mix other ingredients
in small bowl add to large bowl and mix by hand. Flour work surface
and lightly knead dough. Cut in half and roll each piece into a
log. Cut logs into slices about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Place on
baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake 15-18 minutes or
until light gold.
